What GSM Stands For
GSM means grams per square meter — a direct measurement of how much a piece of fabric weighs for a given area. It's a more useful indicator of fabric quality and feel than fiber content alone, since two 100% cotton tees can feel completely different depending on their GSM.
170 GSM: Light and Breathable
Our melange tees sit at 170 GSM, the lightest weight in the catalog. This weight prioritizes breathability and a soft drape over maximum structure — ideal for peak summer heat, less ideal if you want a tee that holds a crisp shape.
180 GSM: The Everyday Middle Ground
Pieces like our Classic Fit and Drop Shoulder tees, along with the Petro and Skyfall lines, sit around 180 GSM — light enough for daily comfort, substantial enough to avoid feeling flimsy or see-through.
200 GSM: Structure and Durability
Our solid and printed half sleeve tees run at 200 GSM, heavier and more structured. This is the weight that holds a screen print without cracking as fast, resists going see-through, and maintains shape through repeated washing — part of why it's the standard weight across most of the catalog.
350 GSM: Built for Warmth
Hoodies sit at 350 GSM, the heaviest weight we carry. This is fleece-weight fabric, meant to hold real warmth and structure rather than breathability — you wouldn't want a tee this heavy, and you wouldn't want a hoodie any lighter.
How to Use GSM When Shopping
If you're buying for peak summer comfort, look toward 170-180 GSM. If you're buying a tee you want to hold a print or shape well through years of wear, 200 GSM is the safer choice. Anything meant to provide real warmth should be in the 350 GSM range.
Why GSM Matters More Than the Photo
Two tees can look identical in a product photo and feel completely different in hand — GSM is the one number on the product page that tells you what you're actually going to feel before it arrives.
Shop by Weight
Check the GSM listed in the Materials & Specifications section of any BLISS product page before you buy, and match it to what you actually need the piece to do.
